Enabling this feature allowed the user to run Linux apps alongside Chromebook apps. ( ) Later, it became available on the beta channel as well. So, last year, Google announced that they'd be updating Chromebooks to be able to run Linux apps, but only if they were on the dev channel. (I'm not even sure I did any of it right)
